SUMMARY
Provides various administrative support to Case Management Team in support ACF Refugee Resettlement Support Program
This is a notional position pending contract award for Cherokee Federal’s future and ongoing needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Relays critical information between speakers of two different languages in compliance with ACF Refugee Resettlement Support Program policies and procedures.
• Maintain and update various tracking files of transactions.
• Coordinate timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure each client has living essentials such as housing, food, medical care, and access to transportation, and is oriented to their new environment.
• Conduct intake services with clients to assess needs. Develop self-sufficiency plans and timelines in partnership with each client. Provide individualized support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy.
• Assess and monitor client progress to support their attainment of established goals, address challenges, and to ensure that available resources are utilized.
• Submits travel requests and accommodations if needed.
• Detail each client interaction in accordance with program requirements. Input client information in database(s) and assist with tracking and reporting as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients.
• Request, plan and track direct assistance expenditures on each new arrival assigned case and ensure adherence to budgetary and contract compliance requirements.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
No supervisory or management authority.
EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred with two years of specialized experience in general administrative practices with professional experience in human services field and working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Fluently speaks one or all Russian/Ukrainian and Fluent in English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral and written means.
• Ability to present a positive demeanor to individuals, their families, staff, supportive services personnel, and the general public.
• Ability to remain calm in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies.
• Able to effectively manage significant documentation and use data management system to regularly collect data and complete case notes.
• Advanced knowledge of case management services and community resources; Federal, state, tribal and territorial disaster assistance programs, housing & utility assistance and disability benefits.
• Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Excel.
• The ability to successfully pass a drug screen and a federal background check is mandatory.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will be performed in a climate-controlled office environment. Travel is required up to 75% of the time if not located in local area.
