Sophia Solovyova is a New York City Immigration and Deportation Defense attorney who handles all aspects of Immigration Law, focusing on family-based petitions, relief for children and youth under 21 (SIJS), Asylum, visas for victims of crime and exploitation, green cards for victims of domestic violence, and Immigration Court defense. An immigrant herself, Ms. Solovyova is actively involved in the community and has a strong ability to relate to her clients, easily overcoming any cultural or linguistic barriers. She enjoys the complexity of Immigration Law and continuously stays on top of new developments in the field.
Ms. Solovyova holds a J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law, where she received a number of awards, including the Revson Public Interest Fellowship, the Queens County Bar Association Scholarship, and the NYC Bar Association C. Bainbridge Smith Scholarship. She served as a member of the CUNY Law Review and participated in the CUNY Law School Moot Court. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Solovyova earned a PhD in Russian History at the City University of New York and taught History for several years.
Ms. Solovyova is admitted to the New York and New Jersey Bars, U.S. District Courts for the Southern District and Eastern Districts of New York, and is a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and Association of Deportation Defense Attorneys (ADDA). She is fluent in Russian and Spanish.
